I live in New Jersey and I am living in a dangerous situation in my apartment, because the tenant next door to me almost set fire to the building I live in. Do I give my landlord a 30 day notice or an immediate notice for moving. |||Go to the police and fill out a report, if you feel your neighbor is endangering your life and the lives of the other tenants. Then, contact your landlord and put it all in writing, advising you want out immediately, and why. If your landlord is aware of the situation and doing nothing about it, that opens him up to liability. You may want to see a lawyer on this one, and get together with the other tenants in the building to do something about this "firebug".|||I know it may not seem fair but having a stupid or crazy neighbor is not grounds for breaking your lease.
There are very few legal grounds for breaking a lease.
If you are on a month to month- you must give 30 days notice or you will NOT get your deposit back.
You need to call the police and landlord every time they do anything, and eventually THEY will get removed.|||Sorry, not a dangerous situation, but an accident the landlord can say.
If you have a lease, you will be a lease breaker.
Almost does not count in court.
Sorry renters breaking your lease is not your cure for all your problems.
|||30 day if you want your deposit back. unless your landlord will agree on giving your deposit back and letting you move out sooner. But I would give them a 30 day notice and ask about moving out earlier.|||Go for 30. What you neighbor did is in the eye of the beholder.
