Why was it necessary to have the stimulus so big and immediate if most of the money hasn't been use yet?

Wouldn't immediate entail that the money was going to be spent soon? As it was dire to do so?





Since Obama is debating a second stimulus, he doesn't want to go overboard and wants to see how much is enough, this then begs the question,





wouldn't you think smaller and more immediate douses of the first stimulus would of been much easier to observe, mediate, and distribute correctly?|||Chicken Feed, is all it was, a few Months ago Republicans came up with a way to use the 780 Billion Dollars to use as one Massive stimulus Package, and that was to distribute that 780 Billion among all Adult tax payers and the math was done, It amounted to over $42,000 per person.





Now what could you do with $ 42,000 ? Hmm?





That would have taken us out of the problem we have virtually overnight, For those who are behind on Their Mortgage ? It could possibly pay it off or at the least take a Huge Chunk out of it See? The banks would get their Money?





Those behind on their Car payments ? It could be paid off or better yet Buy I new car, That also helps out the Banks and the Auto Industry I mean Really, Come on. The Auto retailers would empty their Showrooms overnight and order for new cars in the factory's would be stacked.





The Retail Business would profit as hordes of people would Flock to Walmart Buying things, That would help the economy , No ne can say it wouldn't.





The Health care Industry ? well people who couldn't at First afford it, Can Now afford it at least for a while, That would help the health care industry.





Homeless ? Those who are Homeless and US Citizens would be getting it too, Do you think they would be Homeless after that ? NO


You Just Helped the Homeless That would disappear virtually Overnight.





The 780 Billion ? The Nation would begin getting that Back almost at once as all those things Purchased would be taxed, so that helps.





The List goes on and on, BUT NO Obama has to have His Socialist Nation. So now we watch this Nation go Downhill and those Idiots Blame Bush for it when it was not Bush's Fault, when the Democrats won the mid terms 2 1/2 Years ago they began Influencing Fanny Mae, Freddy Mack AIG and the others to approve those High Risk Loans, John McCain caught on to this on the Floor of the Senate and warned them about it.

No one can tell me different.|||No, immediate doesn't entail early spending. Immediate tells you he wants to get the ball rolling quickly. Yes, it's off to a slow start (mainly due to Republicans blocking every person he tries to add to the administration, making the job that much harder to distribute funds), but asking for any sort of massive immediate relief is like asking for a band aid when you need stitches.


As for the idea of using smaller and more immediate doses (not douses), there might be a decent idea behind that, but if any of the doses fail, the entire chain stops because of disgruntled Republicans. He had to pass a lot in order to ensure that the amount got out there at all.|||That's simply the amount that was budgeted for the stimulus. You act like someone went door to door and collected the cash from every American. It's simply a budget - no actual dollars are involved. As soon as his cabinet is finalized by the foot-dragging congress, then he'll have the oversight in place so somebody is keeping an eye on where the money goes.


So it's happening just as you suggested, a slow steady distribution of the money.


He's NOT debating a second stimulus, he's against it.|||Well the money has to be used slowly to avoid hyperinflation and the government had to sell bonds and lock away some money to avoid the hyperinflation. Next it needed to get passed so soon so that the money could be spent by this time because had it not been passed then it would take that much longer to have the ability to spend it if necessary. Also by spending it slow we can see how it is doing and if it is all necessary because he could always scale it down and not use the rest of the money.|||Pure African Colonialism. It is sooooooo obvious that the money is being with held in order to be used to buy votes for the party in 2010.|||To quote one of the obama a/k/a Soetoro henchmen "Never let a crisis go to waste". Hence now all we have is one crisis after another. None will benefit the people however.|||Obama must just want us all to go broke through inflation, taxes, and total destruction of our currency.|||It's better to budget for more and need less, than budget for less, then need more.
