I understand the $8000.00 tax rebate. However I am needing to put together a down payment FAST, so I have an idea to change my with-holdings. I current Gross 1300 bi-weekly and take home 950.00. I am single and have no exemptions. How many can I add for immediate cash allowance? I plan on reducing my exemptions after I purchase the home.|||If you are talking about tax with-holdings you are out of luck. The company that you work for is required by law to with-hold your taxes so will probably won't have much luck convincing them to pay it to you. Your best bet is to look around for alternative down-payment financing.
Try asking someone you know first like a family member if they would be willing to spot you a loan until you get your tax rebate. You should make a paper agreement and offer them additional interest as well so that it is official and they will feel more comfortable helping you.
If that is no good look for other ideas, a riskier and more expensive thing to do would be to take a cash advance on a credit card that you have/apply for and receive that you can use to make the down-payment on the house. You should pay that off ASAP because the interest will be horrible.
You may also be able to get a short term unsecured bank loan that you will pay off in monthly increments, but should pay off in full once you receive your rebate.
Another option is another form of secured loan. If you currently have a car you can refinance that possibly for more cash up front. You should pay that down as quickly as possible as well.
