Why do you use ATP as your immediate cellular energy?

Why do you use ATP as your immediate cellular energy? why not use glucose directly as your immediate cellular energy? Thanks in advance.|||It is more difficult to liberate the energy in glucose than it is to liberate the energy in ATP. You could alter glucose so that it would be easier to liberate energy from it, but you'd be making it more and more similar to ATP. Also, ATP has the advantage that it can be hydrolyzed to either ADP + Pi or AMP + PPi, allowing different reactions to utilize ATP differently.
