If shot in the head, is death immediate or does it take a minute?

Because when you shoot a pig, at least with a 22, it certainly is not immediate, at least not Hollywood immediate. Does it depend on the caliber? On the species in question (humans included)? From what angle you shoot?|||It has more to do with where you aim than what caliber bullet you use. If you aim at and destroy the brain stem, breathing stops immediately. That's why it's better to shoot yourself in the mouth, aiming up slightly, that through the temple. It's too easy to just blow off part of your face and brain without killing yourself.

You shouldn't be shooting pigs if you don't know how to do it so that they're killed immediately. That's cruel.|||It depends on what exactly your definition of "death" is, as it's hard to define--is it when the heart stops? Brain activity ends completely? When someone can't be revived without lasting brain damage?

However, in any case, the amount of time depends on where you hit. People have survived with entire parts of their brain removed. If you hit right, then an animal will not be in pain for most of it, because of the shock.|||If shot right through the middle of the brain death will be instant.|||Ummm.. scary to think of the reasons why you wanna know that lol go dance and dont think about it hahaha
