I have to draw a cartoon about a serious problem in America that needs immediate attention and then combine words with my cartoon that will make the people who look at it think.

AIDS.....in 2008 there were over 22.4 million living with aids in the Saharan africa and 1.4 million died of it.





Children are the innocents of this awful disease....... Condoms are being circulated in the hope of prevention, but, women have a lower status than men and are unable to negotiate condom use or to demand fidelity from their husbands. Moreover condoms are often inaccessible or unaffordable, especially in rural area. Another problem is that most Africans have never been tested for HIV and so don't know whether or not they are infected. Usually when people know that they are infected with HIV they take more precautions so as not to infect others.





Idea 2:- MALARIA





Malaria kills over one million people each year, most of whom are children under 5, and almost 90% of whom live in Africa, south of the Sahara. Each year there are over 300 million clinical cases of malaria, that is five times as many as combined cases of TB, AIDS, measles and leprosy. Malaria is responsible for one out of every four childhood deaths in Africa.

Idea 3 :- MALNUTRITIAN





below the Sahara, 33 million more children under 5 are living with malnutrition


In Wag Hamra alone, the northern area that includes Shimider, at least 10,000 children under age 5 died last year, thousands of them from malnutrition-related causes.








Idea 4:- LACK OF CLEAN WATER





Millions of people in Africa have to rely on unsafe water, but others now benefit from projects run by charities like WaterAid.


IMAGINE spending up to eight hours a day walking to get water 鈥?knowing that this water will make you sick. But the alternative is no water at all. This leaves you no time to work to provide for your family. Your kids are often sick and unable to attend school. This is reality for half the population of Africa 鈥?360 million people.
