Was Tom Brady's greatness illustrated by his immediate reaction to setting the touchdown record?

When Tom threw the 65 yard touchdown pass that broke the record for the most touchdown passes in a single season, his immediate reaction was to race to the goal line holding up 2 fingers, signalling to his team that they were going for the 2 point conversion (which gave the Pats a 3 point lead). His mind was TOTALLY on the game and not on any record he set, regardless of how montemental it was.

Is this a fitting indication of Tom Brady's greatness?|||I have no doubt he wanted that record....But not at the expense of the game or his team.....

He is an extremely focused player, and the call needed to be made to play the game...That comes first.

Still amazes me why people don't like the guy...|||yes|||Of coarse hes just a classy player playing for his team not individual records|||You don't play for records.

To quote a coach I once saw on tv. The great Herm Edwards to be exact.

"You play to win the game"|||His reaction shows exactly why he has the record. He was in the game, like you said. He didn't care about, or at least wasn't thinking about individual goals/records. HE is why they went 16-0 and he is why they will win it all.|||It shows me that Tom's head is in the game and not on personal records at that moment. An illustration of greatness....not at all...just an illustration of how focused on the game he was.|||Brady cares very much about the game and was caught in the heat of the moment. He realized that no matter how great the record was, the game at that point was FAR from over. He kept New England in it all the way. Props to him and the Patriots.|||No... thats what a QB is suppose to do.. why do you people want so bad to outline him as great?? If he was on any other team without his O Line he would be no more then an average QB... Brady is the most over rated QB in the league.. If you want to mark greatness look to someone in Bret Favre's catagory... Heres a man, too old to play but still leads a weaker team to wins.. Put him behing the Pats O line and see what greatness really is. Same with Peyton Manning, now that man is great..|||Just about any QB in the league could throw for 50 touchdowns with those recievers, line, running backs, he would have been an idiot not to know to go for 2, a FG could have beaten them, my cat would have known to go for 2.|||Yes. He knows what he has to do and how to get it down and that there will be time for celebrating after the game ands, but for then he knew he had to do whatever the team needed.|||i was thinking the same thing..the commentators were all exited screaming the records out loud but brady stayed focus on the task at hand..this definitely shows why he is a professional and doesn't get caught up in all the hype and trash talks..he lets his actions speak louder than his words
