Would an immediate family member, who is a California resident, help my applications to UC schools?

My father has been recently stationed in California and declared residency there. He's being stationed there for 5 years. My mother and I are currently live in Hawaii, and I'm gonna be a high school senior this upcoming school year. Since my father is a California resident, would that help support my application to UC schools such as Berkeley or UCLA? Or is immediate-family member residential status not factored into their application process?|||Your residency status is generally determined by where you and your guardian are physically living. Even tho your father is stationed in CA, because you do not live with him, you are not likely to be classified as a CA resident.
