Is it dangerous to stay in the immediate vicinity of a FM transmitter?

I have to assist a maintenance crew tomorrow, they'll work on a large FM transmitter which is located on top of one of our company buildings. The transmitter serves a commercial broadcasting station and has a range of approx 50 miles. I probably have to stay in the immediate vicinity of the antenna for about 4 hours. Is this dangerous, should I refuse to do this or take precautions?|||Yes, the electromagnetic fields from an FM transmitter are very intense at close range.

Repeated exposure to such energy can be damaging to your DNA and may result in

genetic mutations and prolong exposure can cause cancer.

Also prolong use of cell phones such as near your jaw may also be adverse to your health.

Please take necessary precautions: such as reducing any unnecessary exposure for prolong periods. And use a headset when spending long hours on a cell phone.

Also do not place a notebook computer on your body either.
