What was your immediate reaction at the time of the earthquake if you felt it?

If you are on the East coast in the areas felt by the quake, and in VA, where it happened, what was your immediate reaction? Did you start cursing, did you think it was base from your speakers playing music, did you think it was your washing machine. I'm near winston salem, NC, and others felt it shake around the city, but I did not, prolly because I was in a car on the road at the time, just wanting to poll you guys to get your immediate reactions when you felt it shake? Others elsewhere around NC felt it too. What state are you in also and what were your feelings?|||I'm in NJ. I was sitting on my deck having a smoke and reading a book when my deck began to shake. I said WTF then yelled in to my kids "why is the deck shaking"?


Then I sat there looking around and waiting for something worse to happen, when it didn't I picked my book back up and continued to read!|||I've only experienced one other mild Earthquake when I was in Canada. This was my second, so I didn't freak out and think I was gonna die.





When it happened I was sitting on the couch, and it started shaking so I was weirded out at first, but then I realized it was probably an earthquake. I was sort of scared, but it was over in about 7 seconds.|||I live in VA and was in the second story of my house...I heard a noise that kind of sounded like a train and then my house starting shaking a swaying...it was pretty intense.|||I'm in Northeastern Pennsylvania.....I thought it was bulldozers rolling down the road(there's construction nearby).|||nothing. because I felt nothing.





Although virginia being swallowed up by the earth doesn't sound like such a bad thing, they all have the same DNA so its not like we would lose any biodiversity :)|||im in nj and i thought it was from the quarry a few miles from my house since they are always blasting stuff out. then the BREAKING NEWS thing came on and it all fell into place lol|||In Romania earthquakes are normal...|||Michigan I felt a little tiny tremor but that's it, I was like WTF IS THIS!|||I thought it was my washing machine at first. My next thought was Sarah Palin farted.
